My girlfriend was a foreign student and doesn't know anything about sports. She likes the Super Bowl because, "it's the sporting event with lots of food." She went to a Yankees game and thinks Mussina is good looking and wonders why everyone on the Red Sox is ugly. She doesn't understand rooting against someone. Quite frankly, neither do I. I thought we were supposed to root for a team; not against another team. (Quick side note, does anyone else get the impression that Gabe Kapler probably hates this neanderthal teammates. He looks so professional and clean. His uniform is form fitting and he is clean shaven. I think the Red Sox should play him more often. I can easily imagine that his locker being the only clean locker in the club house.) I remember that game. I was in college and just finished some tests. It must have been midterms. I remember I was up for 2 and half days straight. I was in the snack bar, zoning out, wondering why my chicken sandwich tasted like cardboard. My fries too. Then my roommates lets out a, "Shnikeys! That kid stole the ball for a homer.
