The Vichy government is generally considered to have been
collaborators and traitors. Which brings us to the (possibly
uncomfortable) issue of what is a legitimate government. Vichy would
not have entered into a coalition with the US because they were
puppets of the Nazis. I seem to recall -- though I could be wrong --
that the French Resistance cooperated with the British and the
Spaniards though. That was what I was referring to.
