It's interesting (and frustrating) how the current administration weeds out people 
that disagree with them from rallies or even getting near Bush at all.  People have 
been forcibly removed from events for even wearing tshirts saying things like "Peace 
Now" or something like that.

I saw an interesting interview with a woman that used to intern for LBJ.  After she 
was admitted to the White House intern program it became known that a year earlier 
that she had written an article critical of the Vietnam War and of Johnson's policies 
in particular.  She was then summoned into the oval office thinking that her intern 
days were over.  LBJ then asked her about her article and some of her other thoughts 
on policies.  He wound up keeping her on after telling her that if he could not 
convince her of his policies in a year then he could convince no one.
