Would you say Libertarians are to the right or left on social issues?
Because I agree with them on almost all social issues. Fiscally I'm
conservative and that's a weighted choice by 80%.

In the end you can label that with whatever term makes you feel better
- it is what it is. When I look at the
radical-left-center-right-reactionary circle, I place myself and
everybody in the country in the center.

If you then impose left-center-right on that, I'd place myself to the
right because I'm willing to sacrifice social issues for fiscal
conservatism. For example,

In MN I like Gov Pawlenty who is Republican.
In CA I like Gov Schwartzenegger, also Republican.

For Senators I like Joe Biden, Chuck Hagel, Dick Luger, and John
McCain. 3 Republicans and 1 Democrat.

Demagogues and pedagogues use labels to manipulate people - by using
the "we're this label and they're that label" argument, they trigger
the us-and-them instinct.

This technique is successful because many people can't mentally
comprehend a complex world, and others can, but don't like to. So
they try to make the world simpler by applying labels, making things
black and white, and ignoring evidence that may indicate otherwise.

It's a complex world, but when someone insists on labeling people I
realize that they're simple.
