He's in a contested race. The challenger is a veteran with no prior political experience who is primarily focusing on Feingold's single dissenting vote against the patriot act. Last I saw in the polls prior to the election Feingold was leading 56 to 33. He's considered a strongly moderate voter. Liberal on social issues, but very conservative fiscally. He distances himself from special interest donations and "automatic" pay raises. He lives in a modest home that's assessed at barely more than my own. And with his mortgage, I think he's still at a negative net worth.
