I actually made a bowl of popcorn last night. I use part oil/part
butter, and just dump in the amount that looks right. It's probably
one of the first things I learned to cook - and I don't think we ever
measured it.

(The butter sort of browns and gives the popcorn a bit of a browned
butter taste - different than oil-based popcorn and not as buttery as
adding melted butter at the end. But, I like it.)

I bought my sister a special popcorn popping pan for Xmas last year -
they were all over the place. I also got her this stuff that you could
dump in with the kernels to simulate kettle corn. It's pretty much
just sugar.
