It varies by State. There have been several of these cases in the news
lately. There was a pharmacist fired from K-Mart for refusing to fill
a prescription. She sued citing a State law that says that medical
professionals can decline to perform medical procedures they are
morally opposed to. K-Mart countered that dispensing drugs isn't a
medical procedure.

The tough part of the morality issue is in the case of people who
might find themselves in a region where the customer is being refused
completely legal services by all pharmacists.

In the case of the woman fired from K-Mart, she has this to say, "I
believe I was put in pharmacy for a reason," she said. "This was
probably it — so I can go sell pro-life."
