I just did a little research on this topic. AMD chips do much better
at floating point computations and heavy graphics. Fro a gamer, dual
core AMDs are the way to go. However. The Xeon does outperform
comparable AMDs on common office applications. If you *aren't* doing
graphics-intensive work why go the extra mile to get an AMD?
