Battery life is ok. Not stellar. I run my brightness at one notch above
off and it's perfect for indoor use (fluorescent lights). The screen is
really, really bright, so you don't neet the brightness turned up too much.
On a full charge with brightness set to one, no wi-fi or bluetooth and
processor set to Auto, I can usually get around 4-5 hours on a single charge
depending on what I'm doing. If I'm playing games or something that uses 3D
acceleration, then I can usually get 3 hours. If you use it heavily during
the day, get a second cradle for work or order the USB travel cable and you
can charge from your computer or laptop during the day. I've never run out
of battery during the day.

Really the big thing for this model is the true VGA screen and a 16 MB
video/3-D accelerator. The Intel 1600 graphics chip on this guy rocks.
Downside is that the software vendors are lagging behind with VGA compatible
titles. It's bleeding edge as far as PDAs go. But the screen is just
beautiful. If you want a coupon for 25% off, ping me off list. I've gotten
a few from playing the Dellf game (www.dell.com/dellf). You can get one
without any extras for under ~$375. That's a bunch less than you'd pay for
an Asus or HP with the VGA screen.

How's the battery life on the x50v? I've been looking at it but the
battery life is my only hesitation. I'd probably run at 50% brightness
and no wireless most of the time. Just PDA stuff, not video or gaming.
