No kidding. Sci-Fi actually has had some decent shows, but there's
just something about the miniseries format that sucks the life out of
the ability to tell a good story. It's like the writers, who couldn't
get a job writing a mainstream movie, suddenly have 4-6 hours to tell
a 1 hour story. I'm grasping at straws to really think of a good
miniseries. They all drag on terribly with poor writing and worse
acting. Roots comes to mind, but I sometimes wonder if that was
actually good or if it was just good in the context of only having
three big networks and really crappy tv.

Ah well. I actually watched the whole thing last night after coming
home tired from xmas shopping, so braindead tv was fine. And since I
never got into the books, despite trying, it didn't matter to me if it
was accurate.
