No kidding. Sci-Fi actually has had some decent shows, but there's just something about the miniseries format that sucks the life out of the ability to tell a good story. It's like the writers, who couldn't get a job writing a mainstream movie, suddenly have 4-6 hours to tell a 1 hour story. I'm grasping at straws to really think of a good miniseries. They all drag on terribly with poor writing and worse acting. Roots comes to mind, but I sometimes wonder if that was actually good or if it was just good in the context of only having three big networks and really crappy tv.
Ah well. I actually watched the whole thing last night after coming home tired from xmas shopping, so braindead tv was fine. And since I never got into the books, despite trying, it didn't matter to me if it was accurate. -Kevin On Tue, 14 Dec 2004 07:38:36 -0600, G <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > A made-for-TV miniseries, based on a fantasy book, and airing on > Sci-Fi.....yeah....think i'd have pretty low expectations for that train > wreck. > > > > <cf_unlurk> > > Never read the book, so I didn't have any expectations going in... > > > > I turned it off after ten minutes because I could just *see* how bad the > > thing was going to get :D > > </cf_unlurk> > > > > Dave > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:139748 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
