I went to Catholic school for eight years. 1st through 8th grades. After 8th grade I went to the public schools, starting in in 1983.
Now, for 8 years I had an arguably religious based schooling, I had at least one religious studies class every year (which I attended every day), we went to Mass at least once a week during school hours. And not once, _not once_ in eight years, did ANY teacher (priest, nun or lay), EVER mention intelligent design, nor creationism in the Science class. we studied Evolution when we studied about biology. We studied about dinosaurs and geology and change over time, chemical reactions, basic physics. Not one teacher ever suggested in Science class that God was there causing it all or directing it. Did we ever study Creation or Creationism? Yes we did. In religion class. We did not study it in Science nor did we discuss it. > No. I'm saying that they go to schools where God is understood as being the > creator and there's little to no need to harp on it. The science classes in > these schools present science around that concept. Evolution? Sure, and who > directed it. Laws of physics? Who created them. No interference from God in > the teaching of science but still having him as the creator. But again, > these are private schools. Public have other problems. -- will "If my life weren't funny, it would just be true; and that would just be unacceptable." - Carrie Fisher ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Silver Sponsor - RUWebby http://www.ruwebby.com Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:140090 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
