Dana-
I'm totally sympathetic to your problem, butI don't think it's fair to
blame MS for this problem... I mean, it's aggravating, but the proper
procedure of removing the program was not followed. You moved some stuff,
and you broke the installation. You weren't sure of what exactly you were
doing before you did it.
It's kind of like looking into a car trunk and deciding that you want to
make more room by removing the spare and cutting out the wires that run the
taillight, then wondering why cars keep crashing into you.
As a former MS employee, I can tell you that they really work hard to
fix the bugs in their programs. The other part of this is protecting the
end user from ruining the applicaiton - that's why they request that you
have the install disk. And at least they provide a method of fixing their
programs when the customer breaks it.
Sorry for the rant, I just get tired of hearing anti-MS stuff from
everybody who complains when it doesn't work perfectly every time. And
especially from programmers - I doubt any one of them has written 50 million
lines of error-free code.
