I was always an art freak. I'd buy anything with Jim Lee|Joe Quesada|Bart
Sears|etc and "read" them over and over again. I can still finger through
most of my books and remember each frame like it was last week.

I did get into some of the more notable books (Watchmen, Batman: The Dark
Night Returns, Marvels), but you had to give me good art/style before I'd
read it. I used to think I'd like to be an artist who could write, but now
in my old, old age of 28, I'm sure I'd want to be a writer who could draw.
(That's where Frank Miller used to take the cake, I'm not sure who does
nowadays.)

I haven't picked up too many books over the last 10 years. I've swung by the
local comic shop a couple times, but I can't handle any more obsessions in
my life right now, hence the unfortunate, but unavoidable sale/gift of my
collection. I have d/l'ed a good amount of them off of bittorrent, so it's
not nearly as depressing as it would have been 10 years ago.

Thanks for all the input so far->

Tyler

On this as well - one of my favorite traditional comic book characters ever
is Aquaman. He's truly one of the most complex characters in the DC
universe but rarely gets his due props.

The Peter David run on that book was brilliant (well... the Peter David run
on nearly any book is brilliant) and the new series is surprising me as
well.

I just wish ANY of the new "Doom Patrol" series were any good... even John
Byrne seems unable to resurrect them properly.
