I hope George overpays for Carlos..... he'll wilt and die like a lilypad in
the Sahara.

Beltran's a notoriously slow starter. I watched year after year of Carlos
hitting .230 through April and May. In KC, where expections are low anyway,
we sat back and applauded politely, waiting for him to go on his inevitable
June-August blitzkrieg.

Now you tell me, how will New Yorkers treat their new 17 million dollar man
when he's sitting at .230 on June 1st??? He's publically stated that he
fears being booed. His ego is fragile, and he's constantly concerned with
how he is perceived.

Sounds like a perferct fit for New York.....
