As it stands now the two teams in the market are NY Mets and Houston Astros. Peter Gammons reported that is Beltran makes his own deicion he will play for less money with the Astros because he and his wife like the community. If Scott Boras, his agent, dominates the decision making process, Beltran will roam center field for the Mets because their package is worth more dollars. The Yankees don't think Beltran is worth $112 over 7 years. If you look back at Yankee history, they have never pushed the market. Meaning, they might overpay for certain players but within reason. And they will do this multiple times. But they will never set a new market ala Albert Bell, A-Rod, and Manny. -- 2004 - The year $184M couldn't buy a pennant.
