My brother-in-law uses a bench grinder with the buffing wheel and a little
rogue. He has a 5-year-old and lots of CDs.

I used a CD cleaner a few months back, picked it up at Walmart, not sure
of the brand, but did DVD, CD's, etc... and it worked like a charm. Was
only like 30 bucks or something. Brought my old windows XP cd back to
life after I left it rolling around in a box of crap for almost a year
and y ou could barely see anything but scratches
