Even with a regular iPod you do not require a third party software. The iPod is a hard drive and I regularly just transfer the data over when its attached as a hard drive instance no software required.

I haven't seen the iPod Shuffle, but with a regular iPod you either need iTunes or a third party hack to transfer the files over. The iPod also works as a removeable drive but I think the files copied over that way are separate from the playlist files. Jason has an iPod, maybe he'll chime in. -Kevin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Get help!
