Nope, its simple, the iPod does have its own structure but you can copy on and off files as if it were a simple HD as long as the files have tag data in them etc,
I have had an iPod since iPod 1 and I have done it the same way...though I also do use Anaphod, iTunes and I did for a while use uurgh..MusicMatch.. -----Original Message----- From: Tyler [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 14 January 2005 14:11 To: CF-Community Subject: RE: iPod shuffle Are you sure? I am reasonably sure that the iPod has it's own directory structure that isn't very conducive to just dragging music files directly onto the hard drive. Before iTunes, you had to use the crappy MusicMatch software that shipped with it or pick up some good 3rd party utilities like Anapod from Red Chair (http://www.redchairsoftware.com/.) And IIRC, you still can't use Windows Media Player to transfer to iPods. Competition is fun, isn't it? The iPod is a hard drive and I regularly just transfer the data over when its attached as a hard drive instance no software required. I haven't seen the iPod Shuffle, but with a regular iPod you either need iTunes or a third party hack to transfer the files over. The iPod also works as a removeable drive but I think the files copied over that way are separate from the playlist files. Jason has an iPod, maybe he'll chime in. -Kevin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:142496 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
