I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject lately since a close friend
is ADD and I am helping to coach him (create structure and stability) since
I seem to have a natural knack for it.

First thing is to get a diagnosis. A good first step is to get the book
"Driven to Distraction" which has a good checklist of symptoms. (Most of us
have some of these symptoms some of the time so what you are looking for is
to determine if some or most of the symptoms are with you the majority of
the time).

After that, find a ADD practioner in your area, CHADD is a good resource.

Not all of ADD is negative. I am finding that a lot of what I admire in my
friend is a direct result of the ADD (empathy, intuitiveness and
creativity). The trick is managing the ADD to make it work for you and not
against you.

If you want some book recommendations, let me know

Sandy

I'm starting to think that I might have adult ADD. Anyone know how you go
about getting diagnosed? Anyone else been diagnosed with it?
