I said both are factual truths. Both are very insensitive though. But both are correct. To say someone getting in because of affirmative action is racism is wrong. > Um...doesn't the program = affirmative action? Politically correct > euphemisms serve to mask the reality of what is occurring. Ok. Now I know I wrote the last email very clearly. I never wrote or gave the impression that affirmative action is a euphemism. Affirmative Action is a program or policy. It is a program of policy that factors in race. My contention was with people who say this is racism. That simply is not the case. Call it what you want; affirmative action or the program. But do not call it racism. > If my race elevates me over you in a public admissions policy, you don't > have to call that "racism" if you don't want to...."unfair" is just as apt a > word. Sure you can say that is unfair. But I would advise saying that to their face. It would be like Bill Gates complaining to a bum on the street that it's unfair that the Mercedes dealer didn't cut him a deal a good deal. -- 2004 - The year $184M couldn't buy a pennant.
