To play devil's advocate:

Do you suggest that parents sit down with their kids before they watch
"The Little Mermaid" or some other innocuous Disney movie, and discuss
how a man and a woman (or mermaid) can love each other and enter into a
monogomous relationship with each other and eventually get married? I
mean, clearly, any cartoon with HETEROsexual couples in it should be
solely presented to educate about this lifestyle, right?
