This is great stuff. I used to live in Saugerties, NY (right next to
Woodstock). There's a popular recording studo there and the bands often play
the small venues around.

I saw "10,000 Maniacs" (with Natalie Merchant) at the Bearsville Theater (seats
about 120). The b-52's (when they were really hot) did an impromtue show at
the Tinker Street Cafe (seats, maybe, 40).

I also got to see Suzzanne Vega at The Chance in Poughkeepsie - it's a largish
venue, but we were right in the pit - I was less than three feet from her.

It's really odd to see somebody twice - "before and after". We saw "Barenaked
Ladies" at the Paradise here in Boston about 10 years ago. Maybe 200 people
crammed into a space no bigger than my house. Then about five years ago we saw
then at a free concert in Boston: they we expecting about 3000 people but
nearly 30,000 showed up. Then, finally, we saw then at a sold out show at the
Fleet Center last year during their "Everything for Everyone" tour.

It just seemed wierd.
