Interesting. My thought, when I subscribed to this list, was that this is a very needed distraction from coding all day. Sometimes, when I am too close to a problem and can't find a solution, I can come to this list and forget about the problem for a little bit.
I don't feel I waste the company's time. I make up for it by working after hours or through lunch. Being a salary-paid employee, I don't really take the mandated breaks like some hourly workers do. Salary makes it harder to know when to take breaks. I take several smaller breaks throughout the day whenever I see a bunch of topics that appear in this list. I read them and then get back to work. In fact, I and my coworkers, enjoy some of the links that appear on here. Good luck and see you around! I attended a retreat last week that made me realize I have my priorities mixed up. I used to spend hours each week in the email jousting for which this list is known. I can use those hours to do a better job at work or to spend more time with my wife. I had a performance review last week as well. Though I had an excellent review, I felt I could do a better job. I felt I was just marking time at work and not really working to my potential. A week without the CF Community proved that. Withdrawal was tough, but I survived. I will miss you all.
