BTW, any votes for the best public transit systems in US cities?  I
know compared to many European and Asian cities the US systems suck,
but some are better than others.  For example:

* Chicago can be a little seedy, but it's great for getting from the
airports downtown.  A trip is about $1.50 I think where as a cab will
cost $40 and a car $60

* Washington DC has an awesome system - super clean, easy to use, and cheap.

* BART - I'll let you know, but it used to be inbetween Chicago and DC, IMO.
