I'll tell you one thing.... this should make my trip to India pretty
interesting :)
I may be visiting Pakistan for a few days while there. Then again, I may
not.

Yesterday I heard that Pakistan's border was easily crossed and that some
8,000 Taliban fighters had escaped into Pakistan unchallenged ... and the
speculation was, how does Pakistan not know that Bin Laden was among those
8,000 men.

Then this morning I heard that Pakistan had moved some 30,000 troops to the
border to keep Taliban (and Bin Laden) out.

Of course, I don't know how comfortable I feel with Pakistan having that
large of a troop mass on it's border with Afghanistan at this stage.

exactly, mind you, you have to ask whether Bin LAden is still in
Afghanistan. I wouldn't be, if I were him I'd be in Pakistan rabble rousing.

Afghans are allowed to switch sides. But if your from Pakastan or Saudi
Arabia and you fought for the Taliban, or supported the Taliban, and you get
caught now, you're probably dead.

Remember, the Taliban is primarily non-Afghan.

many of the fighters have switched sides countless times and will do so
again. unfortunately i think its more to do with revenge and blood lust than
anything else.

Part of the reason they kill them instead of drive them out; They go and
hide in the mountains and will the perform hit and run Guerilla and suicide
missions. This is what the Northern Alliance did to the Russians. Finally
they left because the loss was becoming greater than the gains.

That and you would probably do the same knowing that these people killed
your family because you would not support them. The list goes on.

While I am not saying it is right. At the same time if I were in the
position I would probably do the same.
