As far as I can tell from the news, there is no evidence that the Northern Alliance is behind the killings. It seems more likely that local citizens killed all of the non-Afghan Taliban members they could get their hands on. An understandable reaction ... they hate the Arabs and Pakastanis who occupied their country and given the final opportunity to exact some revenge, they did.
This doesn't necessarily mean the NA will not be able to be part of a peaceful coalition government. And it also doesn't mean that it can or will. I'd say it's a very unsettled situation right now that can go either way (how's that for a profound statement!). This is what the Northern Alliance did to the Russians. Finally they left because the loss was becoming greater than the gains. That and you would probably do the same knowing that these people killed your family because you would not support them. The list goes on. While I am not saying it is right. At the same time if I were in the position I would probably do the same. At 02:46 PM 11/14/2001 -0500, you wrote: >Yeah. They need to be very careful as they set up their new government.
