It is pretty easy. Just have your layout person create the layout you want as a
.ps file, and insert helpful text into each place you want to dynamically
replace text. Then open up the .ps file in Homesite and search for your
strings. You will easily see what and where to insert your variable data. Regex
can handle this easily.

I also have used Perl to manipulate and create postscript from scratch. The
postscript::simple, ::document, etc libs at cpan.org can help a lot.

That actually marries up nicely with the process I am picturing. We have 3
directory sizes and 4 advertising sizes we want in this system. That gives me
12 possible permutations on each ad layout. I can have the graphic artists
create the backgrounds and define the text locations. I then take the text
entered into a web form and create a PostScript file. The jpeg and pdf files
are created from this.

I think I can make this work. I need to learn the PostScript Language, but I
think that may do me.

Sorry, just thinking out loud here.
