Supposedly the northern part of pakistan, near china, is not as anti-american as the rest of it, although some of this may have changed with the war. I was looking at doing a bike trip from there into China, and was reassured that I would be safe as an american woman travelling alone, which is not really true in most of pakistan. So perhaps if you can visit the north, it might be best.
