You keep saying that. So if someone tells a battered spouse about
shelters and child support, according to your argument,  they are
interfering in what does not concern them.

I have considered the hypothetical where you are right and Michael
Schiavo is exactly what he says, a husband trying to carry out Terri's
wishes. Now consider mine.
