That's an interesting anomoly... I can't say that I've needed
XmlHttpRequest for anything yet actually (not sure if I ever will, I
mean -- it may take a little longer, but you can always connect to
your own site, consume a webservice w/ CF and then return the data
however you need -- with the added benefit of having access to your
own db and server caching during the request). So I can't say that I'm
familiar with the problems that arise with the object... My own
problems are typically limited to the annoyance of having to fetch out
a url to see what's happening on the other site of a <script> tag --
which is a very minor annoyance.
