Incidentally, just in case anyone is confused, the last email was
really just a joke... and I'd be willing to bet you're right, it
probably does have a lot to do with people in that area being
uncomfortable with gays only because it's unfamiliar or "alien" to
them. Though that issue and the issue of the religious right foaming
at the mouth are sort of complimentary I think -- it's a lot easier to
walk away from a rabbid dog, especially when you may not be sure why
you'd want to confront it.
