There's a bit of a difference - I think you did the exactly right thing 
and if I were in the same situation I would do the exact same thing.

The document I signed only restricted me from two clients, neither of 
which I would have the clout or resources to approach on my own.  I look 
at it as akin to me saying, "I'm not going to shoot you in the foot" 
when I don't own a gun.
