I'm not going to go ahead with the Athlon, I will go to either the AMD
Opteron or possibly an Intel Xeon.

One question though... Jochem, would you also suggest staying away
from a P4 and instead go for the Xeon? I know the Xeon is geared for
server use.

That was an interesting article on the Intel (Xeon) VS AMD (Opteron)
on different platforms. Thanks.

And Cameron, it wasn't "exactly" what I had asked for, but it is understood.

For the application I am going to put on there, it is one of my main
goals to have it run as efficiently as possible (code wise).

I felt that feedback on hardware was needed, I appreciate the wealth
of experience that can be gathered (and has been gathered) from a list
of professionals working with CF such as this....
