I don't know - it doesn't bother me as much as it might.

I'm an avid fan of the comics and all things supes - I've got every issue of
all the series from the past 16 years. Although I must admit that I got
sidetracked by the baby and am now several years behind and getting more so
every month.

That's my biggest complaint.

But at the same time I really DO like the streamlined "human" aspect of the
costume - no synthetic muscles, no ab plates, etc.

My favorite Superman stories from the modern age are ALWAYS those where he's
being most human. There are stories where he sees a shrink, in costume. On
of my favorite stories of all time was when Superman took Lois to the top of
Mount Fugi to talk about their future for a whole issue (sue me, I'm a big
girl).

A costume that shows that human-side, "bares him to the skin" so to speak
has always worked best.

I've got no opinion one way or the other. Yet. ;^)

Superman is such an archetypical character - he really can be handled in so
many possible ways without losing the meaning of the character (although
"Smallville" in these past coupla seasons are doing their best to destroy
him).

It does look good, doesn't it. I like Christian Bale a lot (I thought that
both "Equilibrium" and "Reign of Fire" were great) so I've got high hopes.
Of course there's a lot to live up from the first two films - and a lot to
live down from the last two.

So we'll have to see.
