Come on Michael .. cheer up :) If they wanna be asses, let them. If they wanna go the cast iron corporate route, let them. If they wanna alienate the people that made Allaire (and its product line) attractive enough to buy, let them.
We are all intelligent, educated developers .. some with great influence in respect to their company's purchasing decisions. The 'CF community' on this list is more than a 'CF community'. We are a community of web developers. CF / PHP / JSP / ASP / Perl / whatever .. a particular language doesn't make a community .. the people do. If we all suddenly switched to ASP tomorrow, we would still be the same community, though a bit confused ;). If MM can't understand this, then .. well .. I guess they won't care if we move on. My employer, the fastest growing MS training company in the world, is rather interested in moving to ASP.Net. I've recently been kinda fighting this by volunteering 3 hours a night teaching people CF and Fusebox. I'm personally pushing for an investment in CF 6, and myself and the lead graphics designer are eager for a partnership with MM in training and development with Flash, Ultradev, etc. Upper management is listening. I still have a certain loyalty to MM, but if they keep this arrogance towards their own 'development community' up, I will withdraw my support from them and Neo completely, and throw my full support towards MS' fare. I won't be happy about jumping to an MS web development product, but ... Anyway, my point is, I don't care what web dev. app. I use, I'll always consider myself a part of this community and I hope everyone else will still consider me a part of it too.
