Yes, I have refrained for the same reason, trying to actually be thoughtful here. I mean, if I were going to be knee-jerk, I'd just say the child should be homeschooled, case closed. I still suspect that this might be better for the child, depending on what home looks like.
But that's not for everyone and to facilely say it is ignores the problem of schools trying to accomodate all sorts of needs. I don't think the problem can be solved in the terms in which it is currently framed.
