Well, right now my collection is in short boxes (about 40 of them). I just put shelves into a closet in one of the bedrooms...and the shelves are 24" deep...with the short boxes being 15", that's a lot of wasted real estate. Most long boxes I've seen are roughly 28" in length, which are too long (I did pick one up from a local shop to see if I could live with it...not sure I can :)
So I'm looking at buying a fair amount of boxes...figured I can get a better price online (even with shipping charges), since most LCS's (that I know of) don't offer discounts on things like boxes unless you're ordering a much larger quantity. There are also only 2 comic shops that I'm aware of local to me (only been here 3 months, so I'm sure there are more)...figured if I really want to find the 24" boxes...and it's between 2 local shops and...well, the entire Internet, I have a better shot on the Internet. Just playing the odds :) I've bought boxes online before and had no issues whatsoever. Bought in the past from bagsunlimited.com <http://bagsunlimited.com>. They do have a 20" box (which is still shorter than I'd like, but better than the 15" short boxes)...only 'problem' is they're plastic ( http://www.bagsunlimited.com/cart/detail.asp?cat=3&subcat=93&product_id=xlc250cp). which means $$$ :\ But if I can't find anything in the 20"-24" range in the 'standard' cardboard boxes, I may make the investment in the plastic ones.
