Interesting distinction, but you're right.  I don't consider star wars 
to be science fiction literature.  I've heard a lot of people made 
guesses that star wars imagery, but IMHO I don't think it's that 
sophisticated.  I loved the original trilogy, but it doesn't have 
thoughtful social commentary that you'd see with Heinlein.  For me, A 
New Hope was "the young brave knight rescues the princess from the evil 
warlord and slays the dragon".  And, for that, it was most enjoyable.  
It wasn't deep, though.  Most of its perks were cinematic.

I'm seeing it in the theatre because it's the best place to see the eye 
candy.

It is a shame what happened with the movie version of Starship 
Troopers.  The movie was dumbed down.
