Yeah, personally I feel much safer giving my credit card to Amazon
than to some waiter at a hole-in-wall. I cringe every time I have to
do it and I know numerous people who've had their card info stolen;
once by a waiter with a Palm Pilot hooked to card reader. The guy
stole the info right at the table!

And then there's the infamous hotel imprint "just for extras". What
do they do with those when they're done? Numerous times I've had
calls from the front desk asking for another imprint as they forget to
it the first time (nope), or they lost it (too bad), or their
computers are down (mm hmm).

There's a lot of scams out there. Even ATMs can have fraudulent card
readers attached.

Then there's the legal scams Banks try to pull. Anybody who's bought
a house knows there's about 100 fees and charges that are
unnecessary. It can literally takes days to get rid of them all and
get a fair interest rate.

Then there's buying cars ...

These days you have to be System savvy, and just part of that is the internet!
