Childhood diabetes rarely has anything to do with weight (adult onset diabetes has been linked, but even those links are being questioned by recent studies). Essentially a fat kid, even a REALLY fat kid, just hasn't been fat long enough to destroy their bodies to that extent - it the same reason that you need see heart attacks in kids no matter how much they weigh. In any case this device focuses only on Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes (the type most often found in children and young adults) not type II diabetes (the type associated with obesity). As for the issue of sedentary behavior - well, that may be a problem but I doubt this game would contribute to it. Kids have to sit still when they get tested in any case. This just attempts to distract them from the fact that they're getting stabbed four or five times a day. I can't see the game being so much fun that the kid would want to play it over and over and over... eventually dying from loss of blood. Another sad victim of the vampiritic, undead GameBoy. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:159574 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
