Is this an issue of "societal morals"? Personally I question the classification of marijuana as a "drug" in the first place, it's sketchy at best.
I will say that my support stops at marijuana, anything stronger (cocaine, lsd, etc.) should continue to be illegal. Scott A. Stewart, Web Application Developer Engineering Consulting Services, Ltd. I think that a society that becomes too permissive runs the risk of destroying itself. The same is true if it becomes too restrictive. Somewhere, someone or a group of people make the decisions on how to best protect the society that they live in. It's not perfect, and it doesn't always work. But the fact that a government exists speaks volumes about the fact that people must have rules imposed on them in order to protect the greater good. That's why I care. I believe, as many people do, that drugs used as a pastime are detrimental to society. Thankfully, I vote and can urge my representatives to not allow recreational use of drugs, and you can do the opposite. Medicinal use is fine. But those pills exist, right? OK, so use those and stop pressing the issue that you want the right to become a druggie.
