Thanks Tony for the respectful response. Honestly, I'm not that fervent
about much - I find myself thinking about both sides of the situation most
of the time and wondering why a person would believe what he believes. But
this is a relatively new phenomenon, developed over the past two or three
years. Things used to be black and white for me - I understood exactly
where I stood on every issue and I would characterize those views as very
liberal. However, as I get older, I find myself understanding issues in a
different manner than I did years ago.

Conservative issues are not always hard-headed as I used to believe. I
think that conservative values place more emphasis on the society as a whole
rather than personal liberties. Conservative issues are centered around
keeping the family (using the strict interpretation of a mother, father and
children) intact.

I have come to realize that I am a conservative with many liberal leanings
(I guess I am a moderate), but I am certainly not a Republican and although
I have been a registered Democrat since I could vote, I am liking that party
less and less every day.

agreed.

incorrect. thats where i think i have the most problem with this.
you cannot call heroine and marijuana, ANYTHING close to related...
they are two completely different animals. coke and crack, VERY
similar, again WHOLLY unlike marijuana. you cant go out in your
backyard, and pick a crack weed out of the ground and smoke it... nor
can you do that with the others... but with a pot plant, you certainly
could. and i think thats a MAJOR difference. and for all the bible
beaters out there... there is even a passage, i believe in genesis,
that mentions something to the effect of "i give you all the seed
bearing plants on the earth to use...."

im not sure you are hard headed matt, just set in your ways. and
fervent with your beliefs, which is fine, im VERY like that, just on
the other side of the coin from you ;)

i must ask tho' have you ever tried, any of the aforementioned? if
not, i completely understand your position/stance. if so, then im not
sure, maybe you have lost a friend on a pot overdose? maybe not? just
wondering?
