it's been discussed in some areas that I know of but is generally
opposed by homeschoolers. Tax dollars ->regulation and then you are no
longer homeschooling, you are working for the state at a task they get
to define since they are paying for it.

AFAIK -- and I could be wrong -- this is not currently the case
anywhere. Mind you, Minnesota is one of the states about whose
homeschooling climate I know absolutely nothing. It's definitely not
the case in the states I do know something about -- West Virginia,
Maryland, Texas, Ohio, Florid or New Mexico.

I do think (though I am not sure) that materials would be deductible
on federal taxes as an educational expense. I haven't bothered to
research this since I already have more deductions than I can use
anyway.
