As a government, it's scary when you start granting some people rights
you deny to others.

That being said, I can understand that sometimes "battlefield
decisions" have to be made, but this situation seems to be more akin
to 1945 Germany - that is, the war may be over, or it may be at an
extreme lull, but we have a stake in rebuilding.

I am uncertain what to do with the Gitmo boys though.
