there are a dozen or so novels. They contain brilliant satire on any number of topics. In The Last Continent, where Rincewind is stranded in XXX, a vaguely Australian desert, a committee of wizards attempt to show an aboriginal creative power what a duck looks like, in a reference to the old joke, And yes, they vote on whether it should have webbed feet.
The novels are well worth the finding. I am particularly fond of the ones containing Samuel Vimes -- Guards Guards, The Fifth Elephant and Monstrous Regiment for example. Dana On 7/8/05, S.
