Yes, while our neo-con friends try to equate neo-con Christianity to our 
founding fathers, truth be told many of them were not chirstian in the neo-con 
sense of the word. Many of them were followers of a belief system called deism

God NEQ Creator. Even (or especially) to Jefferson.

Second, no. Liberty is not a God-given right. It is a Man-given right
(or can be withheld by man, which is more often the case). I don't see
God very involved in the whole liberty thing. (Life and the Pursuit of
Happiness are another topic).
