Developed nations built their wealth on the backs of the now 'Poor' and 'downtrodden' nations of the world. They built their wealth off the sweat of the now 'Developing' countires. And they maintain their wealth by keeping the status quo.
Please try to preach the Altruism of the 'developed world' in general and US Foreign policy in particular to someone else. Or tell me, what could be more Altruisitic than forgiving the 'debt' of the developed world? Why haven't the Good, Altruistic, Philantropic,'We Are The World' developed nations done that?Trinidad has forgiven hundreds of millions in debt from it's less well off Caribbean neighbours (practically all the other caribbean islands). The IMF, 'Free' Trade' and 'Globalisation,'Trading Blocks', the World Bank, these are just some of the tools that Developed nations, including the US, have used in recent times to ensure that the 'Developing Third World' remains always the 'Developing Third World'.
