I've been reliving my childhood by reading all of the "Dragonlance Books".
Very satisfying if you're into that kind of thing. ;^)
But if you've never read them either the "Tarzan" or the "John Carter of
Mars" series (both by Edgar Rice Burroughs) are great light reads.
Essentially both are often the same archetypical story repeated over ("I'm
lost!" or "I must save Jane/Deja Thoras!" are the two most common threads).
But in that there's a lot of style and, especially in the Mars stories, some
wonderfully backward science. ;^)
