First off, Larry said that, not me :) But I agree with him in that this list represents a community that will, by definition, not be very representative of the "community as a whole". It's not necessarily elitist to expect certain types of ideas, intelligence, and behavior from a group of similarly schooled professionals on an email list server. > > I think that logical opinions are typically reserved for a liberal person, > while emotional opinions are more typically seen from the conservative > person. What I've learned that is really important to me is that neither > is > more valid than the other. > Really?!? That's interesting, because I tend to see it the other way around. The liberal seems more prone to the emotional side of an issue, where as the conservative seems more apt to accept (or be resigned, maybe) to the perceived reality of the situation. For example, the environment. I mean, everyone wants to protect the environment....so when a new oil drilling operation is suggested, the emotional response is "NOOOO!!!!!"....where as a more realistic approach would be "Well, we need oil!". Ideally, the balance between the two sides will give us an environmentally friendly...oil drilling operation :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Protect your mail server with built in anti-virus protection.
