The US media isn't some standalone institution that's not doing it's job; in fact, it's doing it's job perfectly: providing Americans with news they want to read. I've heard about Japan and I'm an American who's made media choices, so I'd say that's the American media. If there's a finger that should be pointed, it should pointed at the citizens. Look at the state of education: at 4th grade our students are number 1 in the world. By 9th grade they've slipped to the bottom of the heap. We're becoming a country full of uneducated idiots who don't care about being competitive because "we're #1". Consequently we'd rather read about Jessica's butt rather than news that can help us compete in a global economy. Extrapolate from there. Stupid is as stupid does. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:169819 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
